Who We Are
JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., was contracted in 2023 by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MDPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) to launch Care Massachusetts: The Opioid Abatement Partnership to provide training and technical assistance to municipalities receiving opioid settlement funds.
What We Do
As a state-sponsored training and technical assistance (TTA) provider, Care Massachusetts’ goal is to aid municipalities in building their capacity, so that they’re able to uphold the terms of State Subdivision Agreement.
To achieve this goal, Care Massachusetts offers multifaceted TTA services, which includes:
Universal TTA
Any type of TTA to increase knowledge about opioid abatement and/or that builds capacity, including office hours, webinars, and statewide events and/or trainings
Group TTA
TTA designed for smaller groups with similar needs and interests that allow for skill-building and peer sharing including, learning collaboratives, community engagement/learning sessions and local/regional community meetings
Targeted TTA
This type of TTA addresses the unique needs of a specific municipality or partner, and is delivered through one-on-one outreach or by responding to TTA requests, in which Care Massachusetts works collaboratively with cities and towns to:
- Assess and define existing TTA needs
- Identify potential solutions to pursue
- Develop a plan of action with deliverables to measure needs are met
